Classic automobiles such as Dusenbergs and Cadillacs are represented, working vehicles include trucks and a fire truck, and plenty of street rods and muscle cars of every color are on hand. Cars that started as family cars but are now classics are there, such as the 57 Chevrolet Bel Air with its fins, the finned Impala and early sixties Thunderbirds.

There is a classic VW bus painted hippie style including a beaded curtain and shag carpeting. For the kid in all of us there is The Magical Mystery Machine featuring Scooby-Doo. Local racecars and a dragster grace the arena. Corvettes from the mid-fifties convertible with side scoop through the sixties Sting Ray to more recent models gleam on the show floor.

There are novelty vehicles too. There is a wooden Ford Bronco and a duded out hearse. Big Sandy Superstore has a retro display with a vintage truck holding a matching Cushman scooter in its bed and another truck being served by a fifties-style carhop on roller skates while a life-size cutout of Jimmy Dean watches. Everyone is sure to find something of interest whether it's the first car you owned or the one you always dreamed of owning.

Vendors are scattered throughout the show area selling those hard to find parts. There are designers who will creatively customize your old heap and turn it into a showpiece. If you can't afford the real thing, there are vendors selling die-cast models.

The World of Wheels is a lot of fun and runs Sunday from 12:00 until 4:00 at the Big Sandy Superstore Arena. Cost is $7 for adults with reduced prices for seniors and children.
