Huntington, WV (HNN) -- The 51st Annual Appalachian Model Railroad Show opened Friday evening, Nov. 28 at Veteran's Memorial Field House in Huntington with nearly 400 visitors coming to see model trains.
The show will also run on Saturday, Nov. 29 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and on Sunday, Nov. 30 from noon to 4:30 p.m.. Admission is $5.00 for adults and $1.00 for those under twelve.
On Friday a lot of railroaders were putting finishing touches on setting up their train displays. For some of the displays it took over a day to set up.
The children were certainly enjoying the colorful displays of trains. Some of the trains were simple as running on an oval track while others were more intricate with signals operating, lavish scenery and towns. There are a variety of train gauges to see with everything from diesel to steam engines.
