Fun in the Sun Less Than Two Hours Away
Allegiant's New Tampa Bay Flight Cures Winter Blues

The weather lately hasn't exactly been the kind to put a spring in your step. It is barely March, but we've gotten used to it being Spring by now the past few years. Luckily for Huntington-area residents, it can be summer instead, in just under two hours. Allegiant Air's latest destination is St. Pete/Clearwater International Airport. That's on the beach side of Tampa Bay on Florida's West Coast, locally known as the Suncoast. When HNN took the non-stop jet flight recently, it was 40 degrees here when we boarded and 80 when we landed in Florida.
Here's what you can expect to enjoy should you want to get away next weekend, or anytime. We left on a Saturday and came back Tuesday. Huntington hasn't had that kind of direct jet service to Florida since Piedmont, Allegheny and Eastern Airlines flew out of here in the 60s and 70s. The cost? Right now it's $59 one way. Enjoy!
