Workers installed the walkway structure starting on Saturday Night, April 9, 2005 at 10 p.m. and were working Sunday afternoon. They were expected to be finished by midnight Sunday, April 10. To do so Third Avenue from 20th Street to Hal Greer Blvd. was closed down while the work progressed.

What an unusual experience to be able to walk in the middle of Third Avenue between Cam Henderson Center and the parking facility with no traffic to contend with.

Some motorists were going around the construction area by using the alley on the north of Third Avenue.

The construction work was scheduled for last week, but was delayed because of having to wait on steel.
