No Compromise for Freedom

Two very famous Americans at different times in our history made strikingly similar statements. Patrick Henry said, “Give me liberty or give me death.” Martin Luther King said, “If you haven’t found something worth dying for, then you aren’t fit to live.” Throughout the history of the United States of America we continue to witness our baptism in blood. From the early days of the American Revolution, our own Civil War between the states, and all of our 20th century wars, the price of freedom has been bloody.

There are some who say today that the reason behind the terrorist attacks has been U.S. foreign policy in the Middle East. These people enjoy the freedom of living in this country. Their implicit message is that, if the U.S. had a different policy in the Middle East, these attacks may have never happened. Balderdash! The brand of war unleashed by these murderers is an insidious and devious one. They hate the U.S. of America. And if we resolved all current issues in foreign policy matters in the Middle East, we would still be under attack. They don’t want our land or our economy. They want us dead. That is their mission. They have raped a religion and several countries in order to accomplish their goals … death to the infidels. It is not our foreign policy. It is our life style, our culture, and our freedoms.

During the mid-50’s Nikita Kruschev suggested strongly that the Soviet Union would “bury the U.S. from within.” Since that time we have continued to witness the proliferation of Communist sympathizers within this country. They live in this country and were raised in this country. They are citizens of the U.S. They occupy positions in government, in the media, in the entertainment industry, and in our schools. They are the enemy within.

What do they want? They want the end of America. They want the end of freedom as we know it in this country. They won’t defend these freedoms that they have earned from the blood of others. The supreme irony is that they suggest a non-violent approach to the terrorists…as though you present logic and reason to people who intentionally destroy buildings and innocent lives…who are willing to poison the air and water from which we sustain life…and who go about their mission under the guise of a “holy” war – the supreme contradiction in itself. Apparently their leader is not in such a great hurry to die in his “holy” war as he continues to hide away.

The U.S. of America may be the last bastion of freedom in the 21st century. If the patterns of the past continue into the future – patterns of liberalization of our trade policies, judicial systems, and immigration laws; our support of countries without respect for human rights; and our NAFTA policies within our schools – we will witness the end of America and the end of freedom. And we will witness it from within. We must win this war. There is no alternative – no choice for the survival of western civilization. And freedom itself is worth the price that has been and will be paid for all Americans. There is no compromise for freedom.
