LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Raese family criticism unfair
After listening to the increasingly negative political ads in the Raese vs. Manchin U.S. Senate race I feel compelled to comment. When a family has a special needs child, they generally make sacrifices in order to provide the best school environment for that child. This is what the Raese family has done. This is the reason Liz Raese spends a lot of her time with their children in the home in Florida that her husband inherited from his family.
But this also begs the question - why is the family of a candidate being demonized? Families should not be part of the negative campaigning. Campaign ads should deal with the candidate and his or her qualifications for the particular job.
