Huntington Family Practitioner Revives Old Time Practice: She Makes House Calls

Huntington, WV (HNN) – It was a good idea years ago – doctors making house calls – and it’s a good idea today. That’s the reasoning behind Pinson Mobile Medicine and Cindy Pinson, M.D. of Huntington making house calls.
Dr. Pinson is licensed in West Virginia, Ohio and Kentucky and is board certified in family practice. She’s a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the American Medical Association.
She is a graduate of the Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine at Marshall University. She did her residency training at the Department of Family and Community Health at the J.C. Edwards School of Medicine.

She explained that house calls were fairly common until Medicare stopped reimbursing physicians adequately in 1968. Thirty years later, in 1998, this practice was changed, making house calls “profitable again for physicians,” she added.
