Why would presidential candidates raise from 50 to 100 million dollars respectively and spend it on campaigning for a job that pays only $275,000.00 per year with a maximum job placement period of 8 years?
Why is it the general populace produce 98% of the federal income tax returns, but the 44,000 pages of tax codes were written for the remaining 2%, corporations and the wealthy? And to take it a step further, why does the average taxpayer need a tax preparation service when 90% of the codes written in the books that accompany the 1040, 1040-EZ have no bearing upon their tax return?
Why is it elected officials cannot balance the budget or live within the budgets of their respective cities, municipalities, states or federal government, but if it comes to their own personal checkbook or their own personal business a Big Eight Audit wouldn't find a penny out of place?
Why is it there is never any money available to help homeless people or underprivileged children, fund soup kitchens for families who's bread earner was laid off and out of unemployment benefits, yet there is always plenty in the budget to build more aircraft carriers, battleships, bombers etc, while currently we have ships in dry dock, planes in hangars and bases closed simply because we do not have enough service men and women to staff them?
Why can there not be found enough funding to modernize every school, buy better books, feed every child who came to school hungry two good meals a day, but money can always be found to buy National Parks, build roads leading nowhere, or marsh lands?
Why is it that the only time there is class warfare afoot, it is because the haves feel the responsibility to remind the have-nots of class differences?
Would public officials tolerate being talked down to in the same manner from a higher authority as they commonly talk to their constituents expecting them to take anything dished out?
Why is it when we are younger we want responsibility to do grownup things, but when we become grownups throw responsibility right out the window?
Why is it if you asked a mother to choose between which child will live and which child will she lose, she will fight to the death to keep both, but when a corporation has to choose between higher profits and who keeps a job & who gets the axe, there is not even the batting of an eye as the pink slips are handed out?
Why is it that a mother on welfare with small children is considered greedy living off the taxpayer's money while not caring whether or not she works, but elected officials when squandering our money, taking fact finding junkets (read vacations at high end resorts) paid for by corporations, living free in condos during vacation provided by fat cats or high rollers and are Out of Washington more than In, are said to be doing the work of the people?
Why is it an elected official can take payola and handouts from pac-men and pac-women, corporations and bagmen, but someone panhandling on the street is arrested because they lost their job and that is their only means of support because there are not enough jobs to go around for the number of unemployed?
Why is it that a person in some states can be sent to prison for life for stealing a candy bar on the "Three Strikes You Are Out" Law, yet elected officials who misappropriate tax payer money or bank officials who lost hundreds of millions and sometimes a few billion dollars causing bail outs to savings and loans with taxpayer money are given a slap on the wrist?
Why is it if prostitution is a criminal offense in 49 states (Nevada is excluded), the only ones being locked up are women who have no other choice in life but to do that type of work, while the real pros do business everyday on government levels as congressmen/women, senators and other elected officials?
Why is it according to some people or organizations, if a woman aborts a baby it is considered murder, but some of those same people feel the killing of physicians who perform the abortions, or bombing abortion clinics is justified?
