DEVOTION: Blaring and Beeping

We are blessed to have the resources that can predict weather possibilities far in advance of their actual "happening"... but sometimes these blaring and beeping messages cause undo apprehension and stress.
A weather system coined a "Bomb" caused much physical havoc to a broad area ... thereby making it more and more of a threat to persons in the portended path ahead.
"I watched while he ripped off the sixth seal: a bone-jarring earthquake, sun turned black as ink, moon all bloody, stars falling out of the sky like figs shaken from a tree in a high wind, sky snapped shut like a book, islands and mountains sliding this way and that. And then pandemonium."
Scripture is full of blaring and beeping symbolism.. and we feel bombarded from the right and the left. What is truth...where is wisdom... how best do we proceed in safety ... trusting our commitment to risk life... for love.
We will have much commentary on truth, wisdom, trust and commitment.. as our society seems to relish having the opportunity to make judgements on people involved and daily events that come here... there and everywhere.
"Trust God from the bottom of your heart; don't try to figure out everything on your own. Listen for God's voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; God's the one who will keep you on track. Don't assume that you know it all."
Choices are as varied and numerous as the stars in the sky... and through it all... GOD IS WITH US!
Sometimes it is clear what we seem led to do... but other times the path is not straight but winds in and out .. one way and then another... to and fro... up and down...back and forth. Being allowed the freedom to choose is God gifted... and along with this great responsibility is God's constant presence.
Listen today for evidence of God with us... even through "the valley of the shadow of death".
O God... it's hard to perceive your presence and peace in the midst of gale winds... torrential rains... tornado clouds...and the blaring and beeping warnings ringing in our ears. Forgive us for our fear and hesitation... our cries of questions and doubt... our immobility to risk in faith and love. We do believe. We do trust. We do love and care. Heal us today and empower our hearts and minds with the vision of restoration and renewal that comes with every sunrise. Strengthen our hope that continually develops in our close relationship to you and to one another. Help us put yesterday behind us...guide us forward today... more aware of our calling and more able to faithfully journey alongside the blaring and beeping.
