DEVOTION: I think I'll take a nap...

By Beth Bondurant

It was a standing joke that if you dropped your pencil during Biblical History class
... you lost 1,000 years.

When did the month of October follow the month of May.

A toddler becomes a teen in a blink of an eye.

Super human crews seem to change the landscape before one can turn around.

How did it jump from 2000 to 2010 in so little time.

I think I'll take a nap.

"Then, because so many people were coming and going that they did not even have a chance to eat, the Master said to them, "Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest."

Life is like a roller coaster... a giant merry-go-round... a fast ski trail...a rocket ride in space ... it moves and travels in constant motion without a minute's break in time.

I think I'll take a nap.

"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest."

God's Spirit calls us to rest in goodness and mercy.

I think I'll take a nap.

O God, where does it end. After one responsibility concludes... three other duties appear. Is there no time to "rest in your presence and peace". Teach me your way... your hope... your strength... your love. Enable me to "take a nap"...and be replenished for travel in this lifetime that never ends. Close my eyes to piles of papers... my ears to constant tone rings... my heart to verbal examination... my spirit to intimidating doubt... and open your healing arms to receive me... I think I'll take a nap.
