DEVOTION: Big Mac
By Beth Bondurant
Acronyms can have meaning for most anything. Food may have come to mind when you read the subject title of this e-mail... but I had something else in mind.
Having so much activity in our lifestyle ... it is important to consider intentional ways to develop our mind, body, heart and spirit.
MAC: MEDITATE... ACT... CONVERT...
Meditate on God's compassion and care... God's knowledge and power... God's never ending presence in all of life.
Act ... "Seize the day" to bring about the choices you have made in light of your heart, mind, body and spirit.
Convert the consequences of prayer and action into restorative hope... rest in God's infinite grace and peace.
Being intentional about drawing closer to God and allowing God's Spirit to empower us ... enabling us to sing with our whole heart...
"Love each other as brothers and sisters and honor others more than you do yourself. Never give up. Eagerly follow the Holy Spirit and serve the Lord. Let your hope make you glad. Be patient in time of trouble and never stop praying."
O God ... today there's so much to do. So first, let me seek your face. Help me breathe in the energy of your Spirit... so that my head, hands and feet move in the direction you would have me to go. I know I will not do the things I truly set out to do.. so convert my deeds into your truth and compassion. "Restore a right spirit within me" and help me to rest in your hope and peace. Help me be intentional in the nourishment of a BIG MAC.
