DEVOTION: Programmed to Provide

The Mother robin is programmed to provide for her babies even a few weeks after they have taken their freedom flight out of the birthing nest. The fledgling youngsters follow their Mom around begging for food but the parents are firm and don't comply regularly forcing the children to learn and develop "their own way".
Robins congregate for safety and provisions... relying on the plan of the Master Creator.
"Look at the birds, free and unfettered, not tied down to a job description, careless in the care of God...and you count far more to God than birds."
It is such a delicate balance when it comes to faith and knowing when to 'wait on provision' ... or frantically fly out and find it on our own.
How difficult to allow our fledglings to flutter about ... testing the waters... practicing and failing... even in the midst of harm's way.
O God... grant us the wisdom to trust in the Master plan... the strength to provide for one another and the acceptance that you are with us and will ultimately bring about goodness and mercy in every difficult and trying situation. Alert us to people and places that are calling us to respond yet bring us your peace that rejoices as others 'soar in flight'... far from our protective care. We do trust in You... even when our hearts and minds are fluttering.
