DEVOTION: Developing Seeds...
By Beth Bondurant
The resurrected Lord asked Peter... "Do you love me?"
Evidence of our love for God is love for one another. No longer do we separate ourselves from our brothers and sisters as we have become ONE in God's Spirit.
Needless to say... this doesn't mean that we all become one generic seed... for each seed is unique and a special design of the Master Creator.
When our hearts are open to accept our 'unity in diversity', we honor our own reflection of God's love within us and we respect God's presence in someone of a different seed DNA in relationship to their love for God and for each other.
"Don't love the world's ways. Don't love the world's goods. Love of the world squeezes out love for God. Practically everything that goes on in the world...
...wanting your own way
... wanting everything for yourself
... wanting to appear important
has nothing to do with the Father. It just isolates you from God. The world and all its wanting, wanting, wanting .. passes away. God's love never ends."
Our tendency to want everyone to think like we think... act like us... believe and adhere to the same process of development makes it difficult for us to become "one" in the Spirit of God's unconditional and eternal love.
"Whoever does not love does not know God, for GOD IS LOVE. Loving God includes loving people."
Even those in our own blood related families tend to be so different in the way we perceive the truth... yet we are bound together in God's love.
Developing "seeds of love" within us and around us is our "new" calling... and GOD KNOWS... we must wait for God's Spirit to "come over us" and empower us for this new commandment... as it is only "with God... that all things are possible".
Nourish God's love in you and water your thirst for grace and forgiveness. Blooming takes time ... and as in nature... love blossoms at varying intervals.
May God's Spirit help us in developing seeds of love... one with another.
