HNN Home 'ICON' Brings Class To Downtown Bar Scene

ICON, a new bar on 4th Avenue, gives night owls a clean, relaxing atmosphere to get away from the 'same-old' bar scene.

Soon to be finishing its 3rd month of operation, ICON boasts eight different beers on tap, and over 70 different types of liquor.
"We asked our customers what they wanted," Shane Radcliff, the owner of ICON said. "We had servers ask what people wanted, and if we didn't have it, if there was more than one request for it, we got it."

Radcliff, who left his job in Florida to come back to Huntington, has wanted to own a bar since he was 18.

"We wanted to bring something different to Huntington," Radcliff said. "The atmosphere is a place to go without having to worry about anything. We have a great location, and we cater to a different crowd."

Tracy Bunnell, a server at ICON, echoed Radcliff's thoughts on the clientele.
"We have an older crowd than most bars," Bunnell said. "The atmosphere is great, and it's more of a clean place than other bars. It's a really cool place to work. We already have a lot of regulars, and the music is good here too. We can also change the music to suit the people."

Even though ICON is a great bar now, surprises are still in store for its customers.
"We're planning a big surprise for sometime in November," Radcliff said. "It'll be great. We're even keeping our staff in the dark about it. It'll be a lot of fun."

What could be happening at ICON?

"You'll have to wait and see," Radcliff said, mysteriously.
ICON, just down the street from People's News, is a great place to get away from life for a while. Complete with a pool table, computer amusement games, and big, comfy loveseats up front, ICON adds a touch of class to the otherwise dreary, obnoxious bar scene.

"We want to give better service than other bars," Radcliff said. "I think we do that."

In a city of 'meat-market' bars with loud bands, ICON stands high above the normal drinking establishment. ICON is truly what its name implies.
