X-Fest 2002
By Brandon Woolum
Tri-state rock fans get ready! X-Fest 2002 is
less than one week away! This years show is going to be one of the most intense
X-Fest ever so you won't want to miss this full day of wild rock.
The first band to take the main stage will be Noise Therapy. These hard rocking
Canadians are stopping in Huntington as part of their first U.S. tour so make
sure to be there when they step up onto the stage at 1:00 p.m.
After Noise Therapy wraps up their 30 minute set, fans will get another look
at an up and coming band, The Color Red. The Color Red will start blasting out
there mix of rock at 1:40p.m. This band has been described as a mixture of the
Foo Fighters and the Deftones, so it should be a set you don't want to miss.
Next up will be a band who has been getting a lot of radio play here in Huntington
these past few months, 3rd Strike. The guys will take their turn at the always
crazy X-Fest crowd at 2:20 p.m.
The next band that WAMX will bring to the X-Fest stage will be Flaw. These hard
rockers will blast out tunes like their breakout single "Payback"
for the large crowd that is expected to be on hand.
They take the stage at 3:35p.m.
Originally X106.3 had "extreme" rock band Hatebreed scheduled to headline
X-Fest 2002, but this was changed last week. Don't worry the Connecticut metal
band will still play at X-Fest, just a little bit earlier. The band will start
screaming their hits like "A Call for Blood" at 4:50p.m.
A band who has always been extremely popular around here is Clutch. Don Maynard
of Don Maynard Productions has booked these guys for several shows in Huntington
in the past and they have all sold out. So don't miss this opportunity to see
West Virginia's own rock stars Clutch.
They will take the stage at 6:20.
This years headliner will be SR-71. This is another band who gets a lot of radio
play in the tri-state area. This will not be the first time for SR-71 to grace
an X-Fest stage. They also played X-Fest 2002 with Disturbed. These guys will
start the closing set of X-Fest 2002 at 7:50.
Heres the line up for the "Loud and Local" second stage:
Aaron Miller Band (1:20)
DownState (2:00)
A Place of Solace(3:10)
Hybrid Zero(4:25)
Rasclatt(5:50)
