If you've always wanted to be a railroad engineer, we have some great news for you?
Starting in January, classes will be offered in Cabell County for railroad engineers from West Virginia and Kentucky.
CSX will offer the training in cooperation with the Marshall Community and Technical College and the Cabell County Career Technology Center. Marshall will recruit students from throughout West Virginia and Kentucky. The Cabell Career Technology Center will provide classrooms.
Right now, residents must drive several hours to Cincinnati, Ohio for 12 weeks of on-the-job training and five weeks of classes.
CSX donated two rail cars for the classes. It also will train instructors and donate some equipment.
