RECALLS TARGET CARS AND BLOWDRYERS

HNN Staff

Got a hairdryer?

It could kill you.

Babyliss, of Stanford, Connecticut, is recalling 250,000 blowdryers because of a defective immersion device.

This could cause a user to be electrocuted-if the device is exposed to water.

If you have one of the blowdryers, bring it back to the store where you bought it-for a complete refund-or exchange.

And thousands of Cabell County residents may be driving recalled vehicles. GM has recalled nearly a million vehicles because the airbags may malfunction. And Ford has recalled thousands of SUV's due to issues with tires. The affected GM models are 720,000 cars, trucks, and SUV's, including 2002 and 2003 Buick, Cadillac, Pontiac, GMC, Oldsmobiles, and 2000 model GMC Sierras, Chevrolet Silverados, Yukon and Yukon XL's as well as the Tahoe Suburban. The affected Fords use Continental and General brand tires. The Continental Contratrack AW and the General TireGrabber AW-17 inch are not considered defective, but apparently failed quality control tests. These tires were installed on Ford and Lincoln two-wheel drive SUV's including the Navigator and Expedition. If you have any questions about the tire recall, a toll-free number has been set up, 1-800-TIRE-FIX.
