LONGTIME HUNTINGTON FUNERAL DIRECTOR PLEADS GUILTY

William D. Querry, formerly the owner of Querry's Mortuary Services has entered a guilty plea to charges of obtaining money by fraudulent means.

Querry operated in Huntington from 1973 until December 2000. He relocated his business to the small town of Oceana early this year.

The West Virginia Board of Embalmers and Funeral Directors filed suit last December in Kanawha County Circuit Court to revoke Querry's license.

Querry was up against three charges for selling pre-need funerals, which he did not hold a license for, according to the office of West Virginia Attorney General Darrell McGraw.

Querry allegedly spent the pre-need funeral money instead of placing the funds into a trust account as required by West Virginia law.

Querry surrendered his license back to the State of West Virginia. He is no longer selling funeral services.

He will face sentencing at a later date.
