Kidfest 2002 Sheduled Aug. 3 at Marshall University
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. - Underprivileged children from the Tri-State Area will be on Marshall University's campus from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, to participate in the Student Government Association's third annual Kidfest at Lefty Rollins Track.
"It's a chance for the kids to spend a day on campus and interact with volunteers and students from Marshall's Student Government Association," said SGA vice president Natalie Ray. "It's much like a field day with many competitive and non-competitive activities, games, food, prizes and much more."
About 300 children attended Kidfest last year, Ray said. The first 150 children at this year's event receive a free T-shirt.
Ray said anyone wanting to help sponsor Kidfest 2002 may call the SGA office at (304) 696-2286 or (304) 696-6412. Sponsors funded the entire event in 2001, and are "imperative to making Kidfest a success again this year," she said.
