We now know who will be News Director at Channel 13.
Roger Lyons will start at the station October 1.
Lyons is extremely familiar with the Huntington-Charleston area. He previously worked the assignment desks at WSAZ-TV-3 and WCHS-TV-8, for nearly 16 years.
He returns to Huntington from a station in Michigan where he is serving as News Director.
Lyons replaces current WOWK News Director Dennis Fisher who returns to Pennsylvania where he worked prior to coming to Huntington three years ago.
Still to be answered is the question of who will be Channel 13's new male anchor.
The hot rumor flying around town is that Tom McGee is returning, but no such official announcement has been made.
McGee's return would be a triumphant one as he was fired by the previous ownership which took the unusual stance of suing him.
The parties settled out of court with McGee receiving an undisclosed settlement.
Fisher was part of the management team that fired McGee, which may be one reason why Fisher was let go, and why no announcement of McGee's hiring is expected to be made until Fisher leaves.
