Dogwood Festival This Weekend

From Florida to Texas to Michigan and numerous points in between, artisans and craftsmen are converging on the Huntington Civic Arena for the 31st Annual Dogwood Arts and Crafts Festival this weekend.

More than 130 exhibitors make up this years lineup, making the show the tri-state's largest indoor arts and crafts show. Guests will have the opportunity to purchase a wide range of hand-crafted items including woodworking, sewing, glass products, candeliers, West Virginia made wines and specialty food items just to name a few.

The arena boasts the return of the Country Kitchen, offering a number of delicious home cooked favorites such as chicken and dumplings, metts and sauerkraut and beans and cornbread. Grandpa's Grill serves up some of the traditional backyard favorites hot off the coals while Granny's Sweet Shop handles the confectionary chores.

"The Dogwood Festival carries a rich tradition and heritage," Civic Arena General Manager Pete Wenzel said. "We expect to maintain that excellence as we host exhibitors from all over the nation and we look forward to welcoming our local residents to the show all weekend long."

The event opens at 1:00 p.m. on Friday and runs until 9:00 p.m. WKEE welcomes Saturday's guests from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. while WTCR closes out Sunday from 12 noon until 5 p.m. Tickets are priced at $4 for adults, $3.50 for seniors and $1 for children.
