Roach Visits West Mohammed
came to the mountain Tuesday, when Cabell County Schools Superintendent David Roach
visited students at West Middle School. Roach was
blasted for insensitivity at a February 20th public hearing on his proposal to close the
90-year-old school, and merge the student body with Cammack Middle School. The Board
subsequently, unanimously, voted not to move the 230 West students, for now. West has a
student/teacher ratio of around 12 to 1. Roach told students they have an opportunity to improve standardized test scores and prove West is worth saving |
