IT’S BEGINNING TO LOOK A LOT LIKE CHRISTMAS
From a press release

The Huntington Civic Arena serves as a stop on a 23 city national tour of Kenny Rogers’ “Christmas From the Heart Featuring “The Toy Shoppe” when the show visits the Tri-State on Tuesday, December 3, at 7:30 pm.

The production features lavish sets, life size toys, and a full cast of children who join Rogers on a trip through the holiday season in a small town. The four-time Grammy winner performs many holiday classics including The Christmas Song, White Christmas, and Let It Snow. A nativity scene magically comes to life as the children team up with Rogers on a memorable performance of The Chosen One which includes Silent Night, Joy to the World, and The First Noel.

Following an intermission, the stage is completely transformed into a colorful toy shop with Rogers assuming the role of the shop’s owner Hank Longley. Longley gathers the children to share stories of old fashioned holiday values and the importance of family with several special characters joining him to musically convey his message. The original music features 11 songs written by Rogers and several holiday standards.

This marks the second appearance of the show in Huntington as Rogers’ appeared before a packed house at the Civic Arena in 2001 as part of the Marshall Artist Series. The show enters in sixth year of production following its off-Broadway debut.
