Drivers rolling through Barboursville will soon find smoother sailing.
On Wednesday, the West Virginia Department of Transportation will open up the number one lane in both directions.
This is good news for Marla Anderson who commutes from Huntington to Nitro every day.
"Everything wouldcome to a stop there," Anderson complained. "It's a long enough commute. Shutting the freeway down to one lane was a huge inconvenience."
The lanes were blocked for bridge construction.
Work will continue in the area after the lanes are re-opened, so the DOT would like drivers to proceed with caution through the area.
