The Huntington City Council is expected to OK the hiring of a police officer today-but it isn't a replacement for one of the 16 officers laid off in July. The Cabell County Board of Education wants to hire a police officer and the council must OK the move.
In other business, the council will discuss the location of the proposed news Marshall University baseball field. The park is expected to be built with private funds, but if it's built within the city limits, the councilmust approve it.
The council meets this afternoon at 4 p.m.
