Huntington Outdoor Theatre to Offer Fall Theater Class


Helen Hage Freeman President and Artistic Director of Huntington Outdoor Theatre will be offering three theatre classes this fall. Classes to be held will be Introduction to Theatre and Beginning Acting for young people from 6-12 years old. This class will focus on the fundamentals of theatre, students in this age group who have more experience will be allowed to take the second class with the instructors permission. The second class will be Acting Techniques and Character Study this class will be for ages 13-Adult and will focus on various acting techniques one can use to explore characters. A third class will be Makeup for the Stage, this class will require an additional $15.00 charge so students can purchase a makeup kit, and will be an overview of various makeup techniques used on the stage. Topics to be covered are straight makeup, old age make up, and some special effects makeup.

All classes will be held on Monday Nights beginning Monday, September 16, and concluding Monday, October 24 at the Autism Resources Center, 1500 Commerce Ave. Introduction to Theatre and Beginning Acting will be held from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Acting Techniques and Character Study will be held from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Makeup for the Stage will be held from 8:00 pm to 9:00 pm. The cost for each class is $60.00 to be paid at the first class.
