Ronnie Aron Ferguson, is now in the Cabell County Jail.
He is held on $500,000 cash bail.
Ferguson, 24, of Kenova, is charged with the attempted murder of Pansy "Pat" Thompson, 78, of Huntington.
According to Sgt. Rocky Johnson of the Huntington Police Department, Ferguson, who goes by his middle name, Aron, stabbed Thompson Thursday night at her Washington Avenue home. Police said she ID'd Ferguson as the perpetrator.
Thompson is in serious condition at an undisclosed secure location with stab wounds around her neck and face.
Ferguson used to work for Thompson, doing odd jobs around her home.
Kanawha County Sheriff's Deputies busted Ferguson Saturday night.
Ferguson faced the judge in Magistrate Court where he was arraigned for attempted murder. Then he was driven to the South Central Regional Jail. Monday, he was moved to Cabell County.
Huntington Police have not released a motive for the crime.
