DEER HUNTING COMING TO BARBOURSVILLE PARK

Cabell County deer hunters will have a unique opportunity to bag their game this fall.

The Village of Barboursville has announced it will open up the community park to deer hunters.
Community officials said the idea is to allow hunters to help thin out the burgeoning deer population.
Starting Halloween, and running through the end of the year, hunters will be allowed to stake out the park.

This came as great news to Barboursville hunter Greg McComas, who was shopping for a new rifle at Wal-Mart.

"There are too many deer in that park," said McComas. "We can help the city with that issue."

"By letting hunters thin out the population," said Tony Erickson of Huntington, "There are less deer on the roads. It'sa community park, and hunters are part of our community."
