LITTLE RIVALRY FUN BRINGS OUT VANDALISM

The Marshall Football Program thought it would have a little fun with the folks in Morgantown.
So it rented billboard space in the heart of Mountaineer Country. Right on I-68, just outside of Morgantown, the billboard reminded WVU fans of what they've been missing lately. It read: "Marshall, We Play For Championships."

But what started out as rivalry fun has ended up in a couple of cases as vandalism.

It seems Mountaineer fans don't think the billboard is funny. Not at all. And while they're laughing in Huntington, vandals have damaged the billboard twice, most recently last week.

Proving the point cost The Herd $1,500 to repair the billboard the first time. No one has relased the cost of damages from the last incident.

Marshall's contract for the billboard runs out October 15. No word yet on whether the contract will be renewed.
