Students at the new Village of Barboursville just opened their new school Monday, and a neighborhood church has already announced a special program for them.
Farmdale Church of Christ will serve snacks, organize games, and provide playground equipment. And pre-school teacher Amy Hogsett will even help the students with homework.
"I think it fills a need for parents and students," said Hogsett, "And I think it will be fun."
Students will be allowed to arrive as soon as school lets out and stay until 6 p.m.
Hogsett knows firsthand that children need something to do after school, she is a mother of five.
Parents will be charged $30 a week, or if they only need the services a few days each week, $6 a day.
Hogsett hopes to apply for a grant to help lower the costs of the program and add other programs.
