Lucy's Attic, established in 1986, is part of the YWCA's community outreach program.  Funded by the United Way of the River Cities and through In-Kind donations, this program helps over 150 persons per month.  This is a volunteer based program with all donations going directly to the benefit of their clients.

This program provides emergency assistants to indigent mothers and children from birth to one year.  There is now provided assistants to Seniors, Young Men and Women, local units of Branches, City Mission, Harmony House, Young Health Center, Birthright, Family Services, Cabell Huntington Hospital, St. Mary's, Wayne County Health Services and Lawrence County Grads.  Program.  All clients are sent from "Information & Referral" located at the Cabell County Library, which provides all applicants screening for the YWCA.

Volunteers work 2 ½ hour shifts serving clients or packaging items, and are needed.  All donations of money, baby food, new or good used baby clothes or personal care items are greatly appreciated.  Items may be dropped off at the YWCA office, Monday through Friday from 9:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M.
