WEST VIRGINIA DAY IN THE PARK

Huntington, WV – West Virginians from all over the state and tri-state area are invited to celebrate the state’s annual birthday with “A Day in the park” on Saturday June 22nd in Ritter Park (Huntington, WV) The event is the 2nd Annual Day in the Park and features a 5K Fitness Run/Walk, live entertainment, food, and activities for the children that includes face painting and informational tables from local health organizations.

Sponsored by The Huntington Cabell Republican Women’s Club the event is organized, as a celebration of West Virginia’s birthday and to support the Harris Riverfront Park Beautification Program It is free and open to the general public.

Race time is 9:30 a.m. with registration beginning at 8:00 a.m.  Registration fee for runners is $15.00 for pre-registration.  Awards will be given to top runners in a number of age categories.  Registration forms are available from local downtown merchants or by contacting Joyce Holland, Event Chair at 736-5701 or mktme@aol.com
