Delta Connection Increases Regional Jet Service to Allentown, Pa.; Grand Rapids, Mich.; Huntington, W. Va., and Toronto, Canada; Seasonal Service Resumes to Lewisburg, W. Va.

ATLANTA, Jan. 24, 2002 -- Delta Connection will increase daily nonstop Canadair regional jet (CRJ) service between Atlanta and the cities of: Allentown/Bethlehem, Pa.; Grand Rapids, Mich.; Huntington, W. Va.; and Toronto, Canada beginning April 2002. The flights will be operated by Delta Connection carrier Atlantic Southeast Airlines (ASA). Delta Connection also will resume round-trip seasonal service between Atlanta and Lewisburg, W. Va., May 1 to Nov. 3, 2002, with one, nonstop CRJ flight daily.

Delta Connection will add one daily nonstop flight between Atlanta and Allentown/Bethlehem beginning April 7, 2002. This is ASA’s first service into Allentown/Bethlehem. Grand Rapids and Toronto each will receive one daily nonstop flight beginning April 17, 2002. The new service increases the number of available seats in each of the three markets by 50 each day.
At Huntington, ASA will offer an all-jet operation with three daily nonstop flights beginning April 7, 2002. The new CRJ service replaces flights currently operated by the Embraer Brasilia turboprop aircraft.

"The addition of Delta Connection regional jet service through the Delta (NYSE: DAL) and Delta Connection hub in Atlanta will offer travelers increased onboard comfort while maintaining a strong schedule of connecting opportunities to more flights and more destinations than at any other single-airline hub worldwide," said Fred Buttrell, president and chief executive officer of Delta Connection, Inc. "As Delta Connection carriers take delivery of additional regional jets, our customers are benefiting from increased service aboard this popular aircraft."

Known for convenience, comfort and speed, CRJs feature a comfortable two-by-two seating arrangement; every seat is an aisle or window, with no middle seats. The plane can cruise at 530 mph at altitudes as high as 41,000 feet, and is recognized as one of the quietest commercial aircraft in the world.

Delta Connection carriers include wholly owned subsidiaries Atlantic Southeast Airlines and Comair, and additional regional carriers Atlantic Coast Airlines and SkyWest Airlines. Delta Connection carriers operate more than 200 regional jets throughout North America. For more information, please contact Delta Reservations, 1-800-221-1212, or visit delta.com.
