Valley Health Systems, Inc., to receive $425,982
Rahall Press Release

WASHINGTON, DC - Working together to meet the health needs of the uninsured in Cabell County, U.S. Rep. Nick Rahall (D-WV) announced today a $425,982 grant to Valley Health Systems Inc.

"Many individuals are working jobs that are unable to offer them the health insurance they need for their families," Rahall said.  "When sickness does strike our uninsured workers and their families in Cabell County, it is good to know they have someone they can turn to for help."

The funding from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) will help Valley Health Systems Inc. (VHS), continue to target the health needs of the working uninsured in Cabell County.  VHS provides vital services to the community by assisting patients with the costs of medical care, reimbursing providers for medical services and decreasing the cost of medical expenses paid by businesses.  Congressman Rahall worked closely with VHS and the DHHS to obtain funding for the program.

Rahall added, "There is enough pressure for many working men and women just putting food on the table for the families.  This money will help many of those families remove the concern of escalating medical costs off of their plate."
