MU Press Release

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Tickets are now on sale for the Marshall University Theatre Department’s second production of the season, William Shakespeare’s “Twelfth Night,” which runs at 8 p.m. daily Nov. 12-15 at the Joan C. Edwards Performing Arts Center.

“Twelfth Night” is described by the Chicago Sun-Times as “a lighthearted comedy of romance and gender confusion,” and is considered one of Shakespeare’s greatest comedies.

In the play, Viola, separated by a shipwreck from her twin brother Sebastian, disguises herself as a man, and the comedy begins. According to reviews, audiences are enthralled by the illusion, deception, disguise, and astonishing things love causes people to do as the plot twists and turns.

Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for seniors and Marshall faculty and staff, and free to all currently enrolled MU students. Beginning Wednesday, Oct. 29, box office hours are from 1 to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and from 7 to 9 p.m. on the nights of the show.

Tickets may be purchased at the door or by calling TicketMaster outlets. More information is available by calling (304) 696-7184. High school teachers should call (304) 696-7184 immediately for information regarding matinees.
